Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mom

It’s that time of year to give a gift to the woman who gives everything and can be the hardest family member to shop for, Mom!

Moms don’t necessarily spend a lot of time on their own self-care since they are making sure everyone in the family is taken care of first. Sharing some gift ideas for the mother figure in your life.

Give the gift of time

Sometimes moms just need time away from always being needed, prepping for the next meal(s), planning for what's to come and answering every question under the sun. This could be 2 hours for lunch or an overnight staycation where she can choose how she wants to spend her time. The most important part of this gift is to make sure she returns to a halfway decent household instead of a bigger mess than when she left. She may want to spend uninterrupted time with the kids and family or she may want time alone - it’s up to her but offer some options since she makes decisions all the time.

A Spa Service

Find out what type of spa services she likes: manicure, pedicure, Swedish or deep tissue massage, facials, etc. If you don’t know, ask one of her friends or close family members who would know. Even better, schedule it for her during a time when you can hold down the fort and watch the kids. Research some local spas near you, read the reviews and see what is included with the service (ie. if there is a pool to relax post spa service).

Bonus: Include some of her mom friends to join her!

Keepsakes

Take your little ones to a local pottery shop to add handprints to a mug, plate or flower pot. Add the date and Happy Mother’s Day with their names next to the handprint. Another keepsake option is to get a 3-photo frame and take pictures of your child holding “I Love You” woodend letters in each photo.

Personalized Jewelrey

A necklace or bracelet with your child/children’s initials, names or birthstones are a great gift for mom! Something she can wear that’s subtle yet meaningful.

Apparel

The “Mama” sweatshirts that can be personalized by adding the kids names on the sleeve are cozy and cute! They can be found on Etsy or Amazon but make sure to order in advance as shipping can take some time since they are personalized.

Bonus: Grandmother Gift Idea!

For the grandmother’s in your life, personalize a doormat for their front door or even the garden with grandchildren’s names to acknowledge how many memories they’ve created in their home for the whole family!

Remember, the most important aspect of any gift is the thought and love put into it.
